The MalawiAtlas is a web portal that visualizes geospatial data in the context of disaster management. It contains various layers containing UAV images, demographic data, lancover and natural hazards. It also has a print functionality that enables the user to export PDFs of the viewed map. Furthermore it offers some spatial analysis functions that can simply be done by clicking on the map.

The source code of the website is open source. The foundation of the portal is build using the Ext JS javascript frame work. The libraries OpenLayers and GeoExt are used for the map visualisation. The backend of the portal contains a Postgres/PostGIS database for the vectordata. The data itself is served by GeoServer
